I guess this is one of those times
Where again I am lost for words to say
I’m sorry – I know you’ve probably heard
For the hundredth thousand time today
Well this poem is to remind you
That you have a friend in me
And should need anything at anytime
You know what all my numbers be…
I wont tell you be brave
I wont tell you to put on a fake smile
I will just be an ear to you my friend
For just a second or a long while…
I don’t know how it feels for you
I have never had to loose my Dad
I don’t ever want to imagine those feelings
And you loss makes me so deeply sad…
But I knew your father Lauren
Though I didn’t know him didn't well
I know he loved you more than life itself
I know it was in his arms that you fell…
I know how much he meant to you
And even more what you meant to him
He was so proud of the woman you are today
And he knew your time was only to just begin…
I know the future is black in your eyes
Remember things aren’t always what they seem
But your dad will watch upon you with eyes of love
And help be your drive to achieve your dreams…
I know right now you’re probably in tears
But sometimes the tears can’t help but fall
I want you to know you have my friendship
And support should you ever need it all…
And I will speak a prayer silently
For you and your family each single night
That you have the strength to pull through this
And know one day everything will be alright…
