Everytime I Fall Asleep...

by TheFallenAngel   Oct 10, 2004

I'll sit in the darkness of my room,
Talking quietly to the space,
Trying not to fall asleep in the gloom,
It always comes and I appear in that place.

Walking through white washed halls,
Passing rooms full of the dead and dying,
Listening to the counting as it calls,
Searching, looking for her, Trying...

I see the room ahead, door just ajar,
I push it open and look inside,
On the bed sits a girl, a scar,
Tears that have long since dried.

All around it goes so very white,
I can no longer see ahead of me,
I just stand and wait for the night,
Just holding my gun, and waiting to decree.

Dark demons let night set onto the light,
Ahead of me stands the girl, scarless
She staring at me, asking me to help her plight,

I felt the thud of recoil and smiled,
I blinked as the bullets hit her face,
I just stepped over her, I was beguiled.

The time had stopped as she lay dead,
I walked and walked through the mists,
I walked as silent tears were shed,
I started to doubt why this exists.

I stopped as the doubt took hold,
Turning to face what was left of my pain,
At my feet she lay, dead for me to behold,
I wasn't sure what I was here to attain.

I sighed and lifted the gun once more,
I rested it against my lower jaw
Being alive, breathing was becoming a chore,
I pulled the trigger and saw...
