Why do you cry daddy?

by jescelle   Oct 11, 2004

I drank your poison,
And you fooled me once,
But you won’t fool me twice,
Cause then it would be my fault.
What good am I to you if I can’t be broken?
Nothing in life is easy,
And not loving your child must be the worst,
But if everything is a challenge,
Then this life must get pretty lonely.
You’re surrounded by familiar faces,
But they have no names.
And when the glitter fades away,
And your pride finally stabs you in the back,
I will be there to pick up the pieces of your broken heart,
For what you did will never be forgotten,
But will be forgiven.
You wish everybody would just get off you,
But today is the day when I smile up in your face,
And show you what it is to be truly loved.
Not loving your child must be pretty scary,
But loving a father who doesn’t even know you is even worse.
I know that u never meant to hurt me,
But you did, you really did.
So shame on you if you fooled me once,
Shame on me if you fooled me twice.
And not loving your child must get pretty lonely,
Otherwise,
Why would you cry?
