Soldier of Faith

by Brad Champagne   Oct 17, 2004

Through the halls and through the days,
Life we life in many ways.
A curse, a name, an angry taunt
Never shall our spirits daunt.
For love there is beyond the walls
To shield you from the swelling squalls,
As well as I, knight-errand true,
Who evermore shall fight for you.
The blind, the deaf, the dumb, the mute
Could never your beauty and grace refute,
So those of senses sound must be
Only full of jealousy.
I your sword and shield shall be
Until, alas, death conquers me;
A servant e're of faith sublime
Thoughout our precious little time.
