Something's Missing

If someone out there is listening,
I’ve got so much to say,
I’m finally able to open up,
But no one has the time of day,

You see, they've been pushing for so long,
But I guess they just gave in,
Because they're nowhere to be found,
So it’s all locked up within,

Now that I know what to say,
And I’ve figured out exactly how,
There’s no one there to hear me,
What am I supposed to do now?

They broke a promise to say they‘d be there,
And the reasons why have not been said,
A road we were walking along together,
they passed through and went on ahead,

They're not even looking back at me,
To see that I have fallen,
Too absorbed in other things,
To even hear me calling,

They told me to look at the bright side,
Too see it all, both bad and good,
But now that they've only hurt me,
I don’t see why I should,

They knew I didn’t trust anyone,
But they asked to please trust them,
And just when I was beginning to,
The truth was wearing thin,

I began to tell themeverything,
Most secrets were exposed,
Where the hell do I go from here?
There’s way too much they know,

There’s so much I have to say,
And I just wish that they would listen,
But until I have the chance to express,
There’s a part of me that’s missing.
