Why The Children

by Saige   Oct 21, 2004

Why the children
I may never understand
Some say it is all part
Of a great master plan

For them I do wish
That the tunnel and light do exist
To provide them with peace
Serenity and eternal bliss

Life can be unfair
That we all know
Cherish every moment
Reap what you sow

Step back for a moment
Each and every day
Absorb all their laughter
While they are at play

Like little soldiers
Each and every one
Spreading warmth with their smiles
Like the rays of the sun

Pillars of strength and courage
Providing lessons we should learn
Giving out so very much
And asking little in return

Leaving footprints in hearts
In all those they touch in their life
While never complaining
About their pain, suffering and strife

So why the children
Do I begin to understand
Is it to strengthen our hearts
And make us all a better man
