Preface

by FTS Miles   Oct 24, 2004

It glistens in the light,
This length of steel,
The hot water
Beading on its edge,
Forming rivulets on my skin,
Observations of the instant
Pushing momentarily aside the
Aches and fears and regrets,
Her tears washing about
My memory,
The guilt of her soulblood
Upon my sobs,
Until once again
I remember
That this keen blade
Is not my focus,
But instead but a soothing
Preface to red.
