How

by Sarah Christine   Oct 26, 2004

How can you say
you love me,
when it's her your thinking of,
I'm your heart, your hopes,
your desires,
but she's that one who's
got your love.
I can't be your "other",
the one you run to
because you can,
I want to be your only,
I want you to be my man.
How can you kiss me
like that,
when she's running
through your mind,
you try to picture my face,
but only hers you find.
I cannot be second rate,
to live my life with competition,
surely isn't my fate.
It hurts me beyond belief,
to hear you say "I love you",
only it's not to me,
should I continue
this fight,
should I let it be?
How can you say you love me,
when it's not me your
really saying it to,
deep down I know you care,
but how can I count on you,
if your heart really isn't there?
to love her and not me,
this just can't be right,
how can this be fair,
tell me it's not true,
for me to sit here and hurt,
for her to have "I love you".
