Welcome to this world

by Jacqui Armstrong   Oct 27, 2004

Welcome to your new world
The path ahead is long and curled
But for now while you are still young
You have all the love, of your caring mum

For nine months now you’ve been expected
Now from you cord you are disconnected
Breathing and feeding is now up to you
Your body released from all that goo

As you open you eyes be wear of the light
Compared to normal its quite bright
But also you can see your mum and dad
With a smile on their face, they are glad

A little bit later you can see
Your brothers and sister full of glee
You’re a new member of this family now
As in comes Nan with a huge wow

Everyone says how you have your dads nose
Your mums eyes your big brothers toes
They all want to hold you keep you close
Give you presents wrapped with bows

I wrote this poem to welcome you
Into your life all so new
Because I can’t be there today
I have to welcome you this way

Ill be down to see you very soon
Probably some time after June
But until then remember this
You auntie loves you and sends this with a kiss.

could you please comment and rate this poem i am hoping to send it to my new niece/nephew who is due in 3 weeks
