Reflections

by Hannah Leigh Pate   Nov 3, 2004

Into the looking glass, I see myself
Alone, lost, forgotten on a dusty shelf.
I look as if I am in a grieving state
As if I love you, but the world I hate.

Reflections, are they you or someone new?
You see yourself, does that make you lonely too?
Who do you see, you or the person you want to view?
How would you know? What if that person is really you?
What if you don't exist, could you tell?
Look at your dusty shelf, who do you sell?
You or the person you always wanted to be?
Reflections, do they let you see who you want to see?

If everything is opposite in a mirror
Could you look brave, but find your fear?
Could you want to love everyone close
But really only hate them the most?

Reflections, can you separate the realities?
Can you see your purpose, your meaning?
Could you discover something forbidden?
Reflections, can they show whats hidden?

Nu uh! ! ! Yours are WAY better than mine! I'm sorry, but you are quite mistaken when it comes to that sort of thing. Mine are gay, yours are fantastically beautiful.
