You said

by Sarah Christine   Nov 8, 2004

You said you'd never hurt me,
that you were different
from the guys before,
but you make pain come so easy,
that destroys me from the core.
You said you'd never lie to me,
I told you I would return the same,
how can I believe a word you say,
only my ignorance to blame.
You said you'd be the one
to sweep me off my feet,
but they're still planted
on the ground,
I guess my needs you
could not meet.
You said you'd be the one
to make all my dreams come true,
when in fact it's been a nightmare,
a world ever so blue.
You said not to worry,
that I had you from the start,
but how was I to know,
I'd have to share your heart?
You said that you would
protect me,
that from my tears,
no one would gain,
but how can you protect
me from yourself,
your the only one
causing me pain.
You said that you
would be a man,
the man of all my dreams,
I guess you say a lot of things,
for with you,
nothing is what it seems.
