The REAL Factors Of Life...

by Shædow Poet   Nov 15, 2004

Life is a bad dream
That will haunt you in your sleep
It will linger in the day
And taunt you when you weep...

Life is a crime scene
That will never be solved...
It will be stripped and tested
Yet the evidence will dissolve...

Life is a chilling horror film
That withers out the sweet...
It will devour our haunted screams
All our blood it will excrete...

Life is Earth's personal hell,
That will burn us till we die...
With malted lava as rivers
And black clouds for the sky...

Life's a shadowed maze,
That's filled with twists and turns...
It starts with awry roads and tricks
Ends with third degree burns...

Life is a box of mystery
Without a detective in sight...
The iniquitous hate is out
And the box has trapped the light...

Life is a series of unfortunate events
It's even been written as a book
It tells us the meaning of life
Open death's novel, take a look...

Life is all these things,
Many factors more...
It is a room with one escape
I dare you, open up the door...

... See what happiness awaits...

Nah it's more of an angst-outlook to life. I didn't want to outline the good, I thought it might be seen as contradictory.
I was thinking, at the time, to make another poem along the same lines with simular setting as a counter-attack of this one (outlining the good).
Thanks for the perspective though :-) plus, be weary of reading my older poems, they can be pretty crap!

I agree with so many aspects of this poem, I don't know where to start! Agreed I'm a little drunk, but sometimes you need a little altered reality to appreciate the truth in someone else's poem. This is a great poem, you have taken my thoughts and made them coherent...thats a good effort!
