Nameless Friend

by ElegantlyWasted   Nov 15, 2004

Do you see that girl alone ?
Can you see her cry ?
She doesn't want to talk to me
I can't help but wonder why

I smiled at her yesterday
And asked her what was wrong
It's as though she couldn't hear me
Like she was already gone

Yesterday she said "Hello"
And smiled as i passed
I stopped and watched this girl
She Told me she just wouldn't last

She was raped and abused
Left to survive on her own
Her parents never wanted her
So here she is, all alone

She showed me all her cuts
Up her arms and legs
Why i wish i could help her out
Ease whatever goes on in her head

She wished she had a friend
A caring Mother, and a guy
All she wanted was to be loved
Maybe then life wouldn't be such a lie

I stop and talk to her everyday now
I try to make her laugh
But she said she wanted to kill herself
Shoot that bullet straight through her heart

I said I'd see her tomorrow
Unaware that she was not lying
She really meant what she said
How slowly inside she was dying

I pass our meeting place everday
Hoping to see her face
I just can't believe she killed herself
Now it's so empty around this place

I never even knew her that long
She was my Nameless Friend
It seemed as though we'd meet before
Somehow, Someday we will talk again

-Again another muddled poem, I'm sort of floundering. This is a mix of all the things i feel right now yet through the eyes of someone else-

that was sad. I knew a girl like that too. It's hard to forget and hard to remember. but maybe that's how life goes. Very good poem.
