Now that You're Gone

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Nov 16, 2004

I don't know why God needed you
And I suppose I never will
There were so many things about your death
That confuse me still.

You were only a Freshmen in high school
When you were faced with the end
If only the car hadn't been going so fast
If only it had gone a little slower around the bend.

But you went very peacefully
When God called you home
You accepted his invitation
But without you I feel alone.

I won't forget you
Because you death shocked me so
I'll always remember you when I drive down that road
I just wanted you to know.

In the yearbook they put your picture
With letters that read "In Memory"
I keep looking at those words
And wonder why there was such an abrupt end to your story.

We all miss you
And we wish your life wasn't done
It simply won't be the same
Now that you're gone.
