The Answer

by Vanessa   Nov 19, 2004

She was in her house late one night
Everything was just the same
She lived with her husband
And soon his love for her he would no longer claim

He used to say he loved her
But that never stopped the pain
Often he would abuse her
And she was too scared to explain

But she lived her life
As though everything were fine
But he always said he loved her
And this she could not define

She never knew where he was
He usually came in late at night
Never saying a word
For anger might ignite

The next mornings
She turned to an empty side of the bed
Wondering where he was
Always scarred of what lied ahead

One day she noticed
A tear fall from his eye
She was scarred to ask
All she could do was stare and sigh

Late one night
He came home looking scarred but sad
This was when he decided to ask
Just hopping he wouldn’t get mad

“what is wrong I can see tears in your eyes”
He turned to her and pulled out a gun
“no please why are you doing this” she cried
All he said was “I’ll see you soon I love you Hun”

The gun fired she laid motionless
He took the gun to his head
And now lied next to her
They were both dead

He always said he loved her
And when he found out he had cancer
He tried to kill her so they would both live together in heaven
And this he thought was the answer
