Veterans Day

(THIS POEM AIN'T ALL DAT GOOD.)

Today is Veterans Day…
Do you know what I did, what I did today?
I took your shirt out from my cabinet,
The timberland one you wore that day.
I put the cologne you used to wear called curve
and sprayed it all over your shirt, yeah, I got the nerve.
Ohhh I held that shirt so damn tight,
I closed my eyes and I can hear you say
” I love you, baeybi, it’s alright.”
I just held on to your shirt,
The more I smelled your cologne,
The more my heart would hurt.
I’m still heart ached, how can I stop to cry?
It’s so hard for me to type this.
You were the only person who would dry my eyes.
You’d relax me, comfort me, and hold me.
You were my reason to live for the next day.
You were the reason there was a smile on my face.
But now… you’re not here…
And my life is so unclear.
My eyes are so blurry,
My tears just keep falling.
I’m not crying over you,
I’m crying because what could have been…
I’m crying because of everything that we been through
I’m crying because this is how the story ends.
