I couldn’t save you

by Gem   Nov 23, 2004

I couldn’t save you.
I tried to pull you
Back from the edge,
But my grip wasn’t good enough.
I watched you fall,
Deeper and deeper
Into your hell.
There was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t save you.

I couldn’t save you.
I watched you bleed
More blood than before.
I just couldn’t find any words,
That might ease your pain.
You were slowly dying.
Slowly killing yourself.
There was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t save you.

I couldn’t save you.
You couldn’t save yourself.
You looked so weak.
So desperately in need of help,
Yet still struggling to be strong.
I tried my best to help you,
To make you feel safe,
To protect you from harm.
But there was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t save you.
