Through His Eyes

Through his eyes he saw the world,
for what it truly was,
a world engulfed with hate,
where was all the love?

he saw the evil stares,
from those that hating brought them joy,
they brought pain to his life,
just because he loved another boy.

his eyes saw the violence,
his ears heard all the threats,
his mind absorbed all the bad memories,
he would never soon forget.

his face felt all the punches,
his heart felt all the pain,
but what he felt the most was the heartache,
from missing what they took away.

they took away his lover,
the only love he ever knew,
why loving him was so wrong,
this innocent boy hadn't a clue.

he remembered his boyfriend's face,
as he lay in that hospital bed,
his face was pale & his eyes were black,
with cuts and bruises on his head.

the dying boy took his lover's hand,
his time was over then,
he uttered his last dying words,
"my love, will you meet me in heaven?"

the other boy lives on now,
a body without a soul,
the world took what he had left,
he has lost all control.

through these lonely eyes he sees the world,
he looks into this faceless crowd,
he's lived through pain, heartbreak, and murder,
he has seen what the world is now.
