SEVEN FACES

by Saige   Nov 25, 2004

I know it is not within your faith having angels and God above
When we talk about the seven faces I see there remains so much love
Those seven lovely faces never a chance for me to meet
All the stories you have told me it was a family that couldn't be beat

An aunt and six cousins departing from life all to soon
In my heart I know that they are stars amongst the moons
Someday I shall meet them and frolic along the heavens
One day you will see that as well it is my turn to give some lessons

I have said many times that over the years more than an uncle you've become
You’ve always been there to give hope to despair in a word you are "Awesome"
From the loss of all those faces there remains pain and some closed doors
Now it’s my turn to grow from niece and become something so much more

You've said as a father that life has given you an incomplete
For that black September day your life crumbled at your feet
With the loss of both parents as a daughter the same can be said of me
Over the years you have taught me that life is not an easy journey

Maybe from life's fate with all it's twists and many turns
With the losses we are together and now we have a chance to learn
Now as a team we can strive and spend the time to cram
And maybe we might both have a chance to pass that final exam
