Shattered (SJ)

by Superior Jackson   Jun 25, 2003

I greeted him with a smile
he winced, then he frowned
I looked at him confused
He told me to sit down
Then he said four words
I never wanted to hear
"We need to talk"
My heart raced with fear
He said he didn't love me
There was nothing left to give
He wanted to move forward
and find a new life to live
As I sat there
holding back my cries
My mind went into shock
I became paralyzed
How could he do this
after all we shared
He walked out of my life
as if he never cared
My heart laid on the floor
bruised and battered
Snatched from my chest
and the pieces scattered
I lost everything
that ever mattered
I fell to the floor
my world was shattered
