PeterPan and Wendy

by Amanda   Nov 28, 2004

You grasped my hand
and lifted me up
and then we flew away
Like Peter pan and Wendy
awaiting our marriage day.

It was a cold and lonely evening
and I was sound asleep
you crept inside my bedroom
and below my bed
you sat and weeped.

I woke to hear your tear drops
falling one by one
And then you had told me
there was not your shadow in the sun.

I sat upon my bed
wondering if this was just a dream.
As I stared into your eyes
to see such a beautiful gleam.

The window suddenly opened
and I soon was able to fly
But as I thought about our happiness
I then began to cry.

I floated back to the carpet
and there I sat alone
I felt this amazing feeling
by which my tear drops couldn't have shown.

But you Peter pan held me.
And pulled me back near
we floated around the room
and your heartbeat I could hear.

Never again could I feel pain
never again could I cry
only I could feel this
the day that you were to die.

Soon mine began thumping
and making a rhythm with just yours.
I knew we would last forever
and never again did I touch the floor.

You lifted me sweet Peter
and you held my very hand.
We sailed through the evening
and we were off to Never land
