I quit

by Shaneen   Nov 28, 2004

The undying love for their son carries on
He’s been close to the end once before
The scars on his face tell an unfortunate story
His life hard, since the day he was born

His body disfigured at such a tender age
He thinks he’s alone with no one to love
He wants to disappear, in anguish he drinks
Leaves home for days without a word

The village in despair pulls their forces together
Each person has their own part to play
They all came together for one reason alone
To help and recover a young lost soul

They found him 3 days after he left
Alone he died and alone he felt
So close to home but so much was done
He didn’t want to be saved, his time was up

This is dedicated to a neighbour who lost the will to live and gave up on himself.
