Goosebumps

by EpithetPoet   Nov 29, 2004

I marvel
As i see the bumps
Rise against
The cold

I sigh
As i touch my skin
Neither young
Nor old

I twitch
As i feel
The constant pound
Against my brain

I shudder
As i feel the sadness
That my pain
Will stay the same

I smile
So bitter sweet
As i know
I'm about to die

I shiver
As i clutch the blade
Feel the metal
Without a sigh

I gasp
As i let the blade
Slide across
My wrist

I cry
As the blood
Flows slowly
Down my fist

I glow
As the memories
Whip through
My foggy mind

I falter
As the memories
I found
To be kind

I compose
As i know
That this is better
For you and for me

I die
As i know one day
You'll understand
And see

wow... just wow... And I thank you for being so kind and commenting on one of my poems, but I can't seem to comprehend how great this poem is. I only wish that I could write as good as you, but I know that will never happen though. Anyway... This poem left me searching for words that I can't seem to find.
