Bloodied Coward

by Unseen Exposure   Nov 29, 2004

You walked through the doorway, but said nothing at all
Just stared into my faded eyes full of such with drawl
You guided slowly to your place, as if I did not exist
Slouched down in your chair, and cracked your uneasy wrist

You picked up the paper, and slowly read the inscriptions
Ignoring all their meanings, and the hidden descriptions
You stumbled over a few words, there was something on your mind
Something I could tell you tried to leave desperately behind

But when you turned away, and hid your face from the crowd
After you had taken your ungrateful, and cautious bow
My eyes followed your nimble body walk off the stage
As you closed the pamphlet, neglecting every written page

You disappeared behind the curtains like a careless ghost
This was your spotlight show, but you're the unfaithful host
A crack inside the theater made every single person gasp
That's when I made my way to follow your path

You quivered through the halls, your hood hid your face
But I knew it was you, even when you thought you'd left no trace
Soon I saw the blood make droplets on the pale white floor
And I began to run, my heart beat faster than ever before

I turned the same corner countless times before it crossed my brain
The person I was following was fake, and I'm insane
This double life of craziness is bleeding my poisoned mind dry
Did my bloodied coward exist? Or was it all a lie?
