Within the Leaves

by FTS Miles   Dec 3, 2004

Dare you walk with me
In the dwellings of the dead?
Night has fallen and the forests stir,
The mourn moans of the slaughtered
Herald the ecstasy of the damned.

Come walk with me within the woods
And dirge undying in the shadows.
The pass of breath will be ever brief,
But our dire Raumdor haunt
Shall stand eternity beneath the bows.

Dare you walk with me, my love
And dwell immortal within the leaves?

there's something definately creepy to this, but i can;t place my finger on it. as any of your work is, this poem is delicately beautiful and the way the tone is set is pure genius.

Ooh, this gave me goosebumps. Beautiful imagery, creates a sense of mystery and intrigue, untouched spells in an ancient forest.... these things always leave me poetic, you see.

"Well done" doesnt quite seem to cover it.

Your writing definitely appeals to the mysteries people hope for, and depend their imaginations for. Your short tale has allowed us for a closer relationship with the potential of an uncommon intrigue. Since fantasy can be so much more rewarding than our days as common.
