Creole Tune

by EpithetPoet   Dec 7, 2004

My life has become
A lullaby for young
Told by a woman
Sung as a song

"Adieu Adieu"
She croons to me
An old creole tune
Thought to be lovely

Feel so safe
Listening to the chant
In my warm bed
Head at a slant

"Adieu Adieu"
Comes the ancient tune
Story of night
And of radiant moon

Close my eyes
To feel the night
Open my eyes
To see the light

"Adieu Adieu"
The note is broke
As i am here
Left to choke

Choke on the tears
I wept bitterly
Away from the world
I chose to be

"Adieu Adieu"
She sings to all
Let us find peace
Let us not fall

Moon's rays
Kiss my cheek
As i am finally
Able to sleep

"Adieu Adieu"
One last echoing time
Smile she bears
Drifts from my mind

I may sleep
But I'll wake soon
And continue living
My creole tune
