All That We Did

by Sean Allen   Dec 8, 2004

Hearts twisting alone:
all that we're dying for.
Minds marching in lines:
all that we're lying for.

We run to the safety of our home.

Eyes bleeding their pain:
all that we're hoping for.
Hands, broken and maimed:
all that we're groping for.

We hide in the safety of our home.

Blood rushing its course:
all that we're searching for.
Souls trapped in their goals:
all that we're lurching towards.

We die in the safety of our home.

Poignant, though I wish it weren't so.
