Fairytale Of Today

by Cantchangeme   Dec 9, 2004

Took a ride to clear her head
Seeing stars she tried to drive
Parents couldn't see her youth
Not even you could try describe

Please take me home
Left here all alone
Where is my home
Please take me home

Looks like another hurt to try
The stars were shining for her
Like gold upon your perfect halo
Another siren with souls to lure

Please take me home
Please another clone
Not another clone
Please take me home

Always forgotten never to remember
The stars blind her perfect vision
Perfection in the form of the mold
The mold that created her indecision

Please take me home
Can never get home
Never get home
Please take me home

She used to dream of silver screen
Now all she dreams of is crashes
The stars shine forever for now
Everything that is real turned to ashes

The mold was fear
The siren was her smile
Perfection was impure
One last while

Oh, that is so heartfelt. Reading this poem made me feel that I was connecting with all the sadness that inspired this poem.

It was good to see your updated profile, Amy, but I'm sorry for what you have been through. Here's wishing you blue skies ahead. --Lydia
