Actress

Sitting at lunch she puts on a smile
folds her hands and whispers,
"I am worth while"
Seeking the strength to keep back the tears
she asks herself, "What are my fears?"
She feels in heart that nobody cares
Nobody knows that her heart tears

Turning to him he knows what she feels
always with that smile, the one that heals
But as he does nothing her heart breaks in two
In her pain she doesn't know what to do

Thinking to herself that life is unfair
she wonders why he can't care
Why won't he hold her and make it go away?
Why wouldn't he say it would all be ok?
But she knows he's just the same
leaving herself for the blame

Knowing they're all cruel
she thinks she's the fool
she puts on a smile
and stares at the floor tile
Knowing full well that she's not worth while
