Not Feeling Christmas

by HeAvENLy UniQue   Dec 15, 2004

I used to love Christmas, but not anymore.
Without my grandfather, this holiday is a bore.
His Christmas spirit would sparkle this holiday.
Now I’m in no mood to enjoy and celebrate.
Oh how much I miss him being around.
I miss the Christmas songs he’d sing aloud.
No Christmas will ever, ever be the same.
And though people will try, he’s not to replace.

When I was young, Christmas was about gifts.
Then as I grew up, I enjoyed it because of him.
He became the gift I’d always want.
To hear him sing, and brighten the family along.
He had us smile every moment of that day.
Shedding tears of happiness because in words we could not explain.
My holiday spirit has withered and I have no Christmas list..
Because the gift I’d always want every year, no longer exist….

Very nicely written! I know very well that hurting that comes when someone is missing from the family...especially during the holidays.
