Dear Santa

by ElegantlyWasted   Dec 16, 2004

She's thinking about him again
It's like he's branned in her head
She tries her best to forget,
Forget the fact he's dead

They always talked to each other
About alcohol, drugs and despair
Her Love, life and family
No matter what he was there

She dreams that he is near her
To try and stop the pain
But sometimes it gets tough
To act like she's the same

She goes to the mall's alone
And watches concerts on t.v
She's scared to start living again
She's afraid of what they'll see

This girl she trembles for him
If only he hadn't of left
She cries herself to sleep again
Remembering his last breath

The house is so silent now
And the phone never rings
The second Christmas without him
She hates this ache it brings

So this year she promised
To try and remember the good
Even though he can't respond
She knows he would if he could

"Dear lovely Santa
I know I'm rather late
But i hope you can help me
By bringing me back my mate
I realize that I'm to old
But inside I'm just a kid
I don't want any toys
Or material things you give
You see i just want my friend
Wrapped and under that tree
I want him to be my gift
So Santa can you help me?"

She awakens Christmas morning
To cookies still on the plate
Her letter is unopened
"But maybe i just wrote to late"

So again next year she'll try
Because someone will surely care
She knows he is watching her
But for her best friend she'll wait another year.
