The News

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Dec 18, 2004

As soon as I'm done talking,
I notice something I never have before...
My father's face has just aged,
Of twenty years at least...
When I'm done telling him the bad news,
He starts pacing,
He's turning
Turning,
Turning
My head starts spinning,
So I sit down
And can do nothing,
But stare at his frown...
His eyes show the dissapointment
Words cannot express...
I try to make myself small,
I want to be absorbed by the sofa,
But I know that didn't work at all
Because my dad keeps staring
Not even trying to hide his disgust.
He just stares at me
And says nothing,
Just stares...
And then, he starts to cry.
He tells me he thought i was smart,
That I knew better.
He told me he thought i had my life
under control,
But now, he knows he was wrong.
He never would've thought that his baby
...would soon give birth to another one....

Wo, that was AWESOME. Not that long, not that short, but SO FRICKIN AWESOME! I liked the way you described the emotions: Shame, embarrassment, anxiety of having to break the news. It kept me reading, waiting to find what it was about. Loved the way u ended it! Hey thanx 4 the comment on my song! I appreci8 it LOADS!!!!! Type ya l8r, Fighter.
