"Now That We're Apart"

by CinnamonTwirl   Dec 18, 2004

Our conversations are scarce and guilty I don’t feel
We hardly ever talk, it's like a silent deal

At fault, who wants to claim that things just aren't the same
The circumstance, the times or are the people to blame

The people meaning you and I or what used to be us
Us no more cause when we talk we simply fight and fuss

Innocent, it wasn't me, I’m blaming you not I
You made me yell, you made me scream, you even made me cry

I never envisioned life without you but I do recall
A time in my life when you didn’t exist at all

Thrown in blindly to the pack of dogs known as your affection
To quaking in the cold and rain craving your attention

But I’ve saved a space for you, in my heart and in my life
Right before the smiles, after the tears in strife
