Like Toy Soldiers

by DMG   Dec 21, 2004

I’ve got no control of myself
Neither does nobody else
We were born without a reason
And without feeling of self

And America was said
We’d be well off without dread
But then we went to war
And now thousands are dead

Can’t back out, just one life
All we are, do what’s said
Dreams are life, life is lost
Only living in our bed

Because outside soldiers ride
With their pride, live to die

We want out but have no choice
Can’t speak out without a voice

So we follow as we’re told
As our hearts turn cold

Lifeless souls walk to kill
Death is all, life is nil

Called to fight and leave my home
Leave my family alone

Before I left my wife I told her
I am just a toy soldier
I’d hold her one more time
But in then that would scold her

Because it might be the last time
That we ever see each other
One shot could take me down
And if not then would another

Because I am just a body
The rest could care less
Make it out with their own
Every day we live a test

This life we live is not a game
But they treat us like it is
So we have no say in nothing
Living our life is this

Meaningless because we all
Only walk until we fall
And no one says anything
But sack up your balls

And we fight day and night
Hoping darkness sheds light

Because our only hope alive
Is that one chance to survive

So we strive to do this here
But life is all we fear

And we know the end is near
Enemies’ our only peer

As we walk the front line
Guided by one mind
And die one at a time
These tears are yours and mine
So goodbye and like I told her
We’re nothing but toy soldiers
