A Vampire’s Kiss

by Ð맆îñ¥   Dec 21, 2004

3 years on and I remember.
The night that changed my life.
The prince of darkness came,
He took me away
Limp from the wounds in my neck.

Whilst many I left searched on
I walked alone in my tower,
Watching the stars in outer space.
Scared as I was
I remembered that pale white face.

My captor explained what happened,
Why I felt queasy in light,
He told me why he took me
All alone in the middle of the night.

He taught me to change
Both from woman to bat
And of course in my view of things,
For I no longer lived, I am undead.

As weeks passed I grew stronger
My thirst could not linger.
My prey fell to the ground.
People learnt to fear me,
But you did not.

You knew what I was but came looking
You recognised my mistakes from before.
You came to offer me freedom
For when the daylight breaks.

You think I could not refuse
But answer me this.
Could you resist a vampire’s kiss?

I really like this piece of work. The imagery, the lines everything seems to be perfect. But I think you have some grammatical errors. And I was wondering, maybe this poem would sound more mysterious and better if it was rhyming. Just my suggestion. But good job.

Lovely poem! Dark and beautiful... you cast a good light on a normally evil character... and it has a tinge of romance... great job :)
