In the Mirror

by Jesslyn   Dec 22, 2004

I couldn't help her.
She couldn't forget what they were.
All night she cried,
Because he lied.

She wanted to love again.
But she didn't know where to begin.
I tried telling her everything was alright.
She promised she would win this fight.

Then she met him.
Nothing was as dim.
He promised never to hurt her.
Then her vision started to blur.

As she sat in front of the mirror that night.
She tried with all her might.
But the tears just fell.
He had said that as well.

The tears rolled down her cheek and off her chin.
She knew her forever would end.
With her face full of fear,
I took one last look at the girl in the mirror.
