In Reality

by Terri Lynn   Dec 23, 2004

Sometimes I just want you,
To let me fall and try to,
Look away and feel no pain,
Forget all we went through.

So shut off the lights in the living room,
But the city shines to bright, so lets resume,
All the talks on the couch,
Night can't end that soon.

Life returns at dawn, real worlds at the door,
You sleep with daylight keeping you warm for,
I, your security blanket is gone,
God, living is such a chore.

Exhausted, too emotionally shattered to cry,
But I know as the fall days drift by,
I'll forget what you look like soon,
The smell will fade from your shirt and I'll die.

You said I was beautiful, without hesitation,
I could love you safely, no desperation.
Just one more season I have to bare,
Never forget me, no, don't you dare.
