Gambling

by Ð맆îñ¥   Jan 1, 2005

I’m losing it.
I’m not quite the same.
I’m losing to you.
Its unbearable.

I’m losing my marbles
I’m losing my mind
I’m losing my innocence
And all to you

They told me not to gamble
But I played my heart
And you had the safe hand
I lost it all to you
And even then I raised the stakes

I played with my soul
You have it now

But now that the game is over
I now belong to you
And I’m not sure that’s bad

One things for sure
I’m not losing you
And in the end
I think I won

I thought the comparison you drew in this poem was very creative and well expressed. Good work.

One minor flaw at line 16:
games > should be *game's* or *game is.* I think the latter would be preferable but it is your call.
