Demons

by Mira   Jan 8, 2005

I walked across the shore to try to see the end,
But it never came

And here I stand with my hands at my sides
In hopeless wonder
At the infinite circle of earth around me

My feet touch the ground of sand and soil
A small frail entity at the end of the shore
On the edge of a circle

Oh to let go and release!
But alas!
It is not what I can do

May my demons that trail me
Through the woods and deserts
Be gone to the furthest reaches of the end!

But its all a circle that will come back again
I can not escape it
Just pray that the ones who seek my life aren't put off by anything

Let me die, let me die!

At the shore line
The waves creep up and down

Birds in the distance
Black heads bobbing
Salt on my legs,

The demon beside me whispers
A Promise
A Hope

Another demon at my feet
Scolds me

Another and another, they come

May my life be short
God preserve my soul
