Compassion I never knew

by BreatheNoMore   Jan 10, 2005

A face of compassion
A Christ I never knew
As much as I’ve wanted to believe
My faith was never left to you

And after such deep contemplation
I realize that’s all you are
A beings longing to see the unknown
In hope that religion may fill their vacant heart

Such credulity this world has
To just believe without a source
A contingency so specific
To explain life’s course

We must keep our minds open
Because it’s something that not be known
Don’t solidify your mind to one concept
Unless real proof be shown
