Little Girl

by Toni   Jan 10, 2005

*sorry I don't think this one is very good, was upset when it was written, it's about my past*

Little Girl

Little girl
Do not cry
Yes they argue
But don’t ask why

Little girl
Stay up there
Huddled in your room
They don’t care

Little girl
Do not shake
I know they are violent
But it’s their mistake

Little girl
Do not weep
They cannot hear you
Just go to sleep

Young girl
Do not cry
Yes they still argue
But don’t ask why

Young girl
Don’t go out
He won’t come home
He’ll only shout

Young girl
Don’t ring her phone
Your sister can’t cope
You’re all alone

Young girl
Don’t plead with the sky
You’re far too young
To wish to die

Poor little girl
I wish you could know
That the pain you feel now
It will only grow

And four times
You’ll try to take your life
And every night soon
You rely on a knife

And those pleas
You make in the middle of the night
They won’t help you
To win your fight

And 8 years on
You’ll be so ill
That you stay at home
And live on pills

Poor little girl
I wish to be there
To tell you it’s not your fault
That you’re in such despair

And I wish
That I could turn back time
Stop him from pestering
And committing that crime

Most of all I wish
I could look into your eyes
Tell you it’ll be ok
But I’d be telling lies…
