GRAY

by BreatheNoMore   Jan 14, 2005

A snow painted park
White branches against a fading gray sky
Abundant and blatant beauty
With an air of something so not right

I weep for the brilliance I so long to see within
For what do luminous possibilities ever mend
When so secluded, so suppressed
Remain too distant to the end

Draining color from this perfect painting
Anxiety obscuring remnants of my soul
Losing touch with my own self
Unfathomable and morbidly droll

Why can’t I grasp the image?
I love what I see on the other side
My reflection so deceiving
Reaching out to embrace a pretty face
To fade once more into a deep gray sky
