If Only I Could Tell You

by Alissa   Jan 21, 2005

If only I could tell you
How much you really mean,
Maybe you would treasure me,
Maybe you would see,
That you aren't just a love interest,
And your not a current obsession.
But what you really are
Is my heart's only true possession.

If only I could tell you,
How much I really care,
Maybe you would hold me tight,
Maybe we could share
Our hopes of being together,
Of staying a couple always and forever.

If only I could tell you,
How happy your presence makes me,
Maybe you would tell me you care,
Tell me that you'll always be there,
Through the good, the bad,
The thick and thin.
No matter where we go,
Hand in hand we'll walk in.

If only I could tell you,
How you make me smile every time I see you,
Maybe you could help me explain it,
Maybe you have that problem too.
The problem where your whole day turns great
When you see your only one,
The problem when your with them, no matter what you do,
You always have the best fun.

If only I could tell you
How you make me feel,
Maybe you would love me too,
But boy thats too unreal.
To even hope you'd love a girl like me,
Boy, its crazy.
But even so I think about you all the time,
And hope that someday you'll call me your baby.

If only I could tell you
How much I think about you,
Maybe you would say
That you feel the same way,
That I make your whole world come unglued.
A tangled mess of confusion is what my life is,
Because a guy like you has my heart.
All I'm asking is that you grab onto it,
If not the whole thing, then at least a part.
