Letting Go

by Unseen Exposure   Jan 22, 2005

The looks that you gave broke me, but the words you spoke could kill
I don't know why I'm waiting here. or why I claim I need you still
They say you can't choose who you love, but I'm simply not convinced
I'll stick my hand in heart's bloody water, and hope that I'll be rinsed

But when the tears come pouring down, drowning me in pain
I'll lay there in a crystallized puddle, waiting for the refrain
I'll clench my heart in anguish and scream for a stronger grasp
But the time will simply leave my eyes, the moment will pass

Love may be a twisted term, but the feeling I know too well
It's just captivating shards with an evil wholesome spell
Getting out, I've heard, is never easy, but I will break these walls
No matter how many times I stumble, I'll get up from my falls

I cannot lay inside your comforts that you give without consent
Standing on the "in-between" isn't quite content
I've got to get out of Limbo, and back where I can breathe
A place where I'm not always fearing that you might leave

The poisoned words you shouted out in anger-mistaken-lust
Cursed my already damned mind to hating common known trust
Well, maybe you're too blind to see that hope has faded away
Or maybe the truth is just too much, and you're crushed from it's dismay

Letting go is never easy, but the ware and tare has been committed
And now the sparks have died down, and no more will be emitted
The words I say may melt you, but the meanings are sincere
So please don't make me stay any longer, I don't want to be here

The nightmare of the yesterday I never really had the chance to know
Is nipping at my skin, with words of "It's time to let it go"
So for the first time in forever, I'll listen to my shaded heart
This is where our paths create a fork, this is where we part.
