Taking Turns

by Phoenixgoddess   Jan 23, 2005

Taking turns me and the blade acts as one,
My blade has been my only friend, and has since this pain begun.
Me and the blade were meant to be best friends,
We will stay friends until the end.
I told my blade my problems and it helped me alot,
It helped me though the bad life that I always fought.

We take turns by me going first,
I always fed my blade, because for blood it always thirsted.
I started by telling the blade my problems, and I'm sure it thought carefully,
If the problem was big then the blade would drink deeply.
It didn't take all my blood it liked to see my problem flow down my arm,
That's the way I got over them, the blade kept them away with harm.

My blade always slept in my drawer,
I would never sleep with it, nor let it sleep on the floor.
Me and my blade always stayed so close,
I would never tell a soul about it, and it never left me in remorse.
It helped me through the toughest times, especially the ones I could not handle,
No one could hurt or destroy my friend, not even a flame from a candle.

I kept taking turns with the blade until one painful day,
The blade got hungry after I told it my problem, but on my arms were no free spot to slay.
The blade wanted my wrist, but I thought that would give me death,
But the blade did not get satisfied until it took my very last breath.
