Addicted To Pain

by rachel   Jan 26, 2005

Add a scar to those young lungs, take just one more puff
Breathe in that nasty air; pretend that you’re really tough
Inhale all the hurt, exhale all your residing fears
Make sure that as you grow older, you’re taking off the years

Cut that soft skin; try to take away what you feel
Forget the painful things, the physical pain is only real
On the arms or legs, make that bleeding cut
You’re in control now; you made your own rut

Pop another pill to help, at least to make you think so
Prescription or others, don’t let that evil grow
Swallow them down; let them do their jobs
Suppress everything at once, no more sorrowful sobs

Use the needle to give an antidote, on the arm once more
Just take as much, you’ll still end up on the floor
Shoot up your so-called medicine, and relieve the stress
Doing all this, you know it’s just a mess

Being who you are, you forever have to deal
Life is just too much, the fake is now real
Add on to the horror, make another sorry stain
Be sure you know, there’s no cure for being addicted to pain
