Beautiful Angel Of Ours

by Jaime   Jan 27, 2005

She was such a cute, little girl,
A young one, only three.
With short blonde curls and striking blue eyes,
The perfect image of what an angel should be.

She had a goofy smile,
And freckles on her cheeks.
The happiness she could put in your heart,
Would often last for weeks.

It was only about a month ago,
That she woke up with a really high fever.
I took her to the hospital,
And the doctors made me leave her.

I sat silently in the waiting room,
Waiting for someone to come tell me,
That everything was better,
And our little girl was healthy as can be.

Somebody came to talk to me,
But it was not what I expected.
The medicines they had given her,
Her body had rejected.

She had some sort of cancer,
But the details I do not recall.
I was just silently sitting in the waiting room,
Waiting for somebody to fix it all.

Then finally they let me see her,
I wish they never told me why:
She didn't have much of a chance,
This little girl was going to die.

Why did this have to happen,
To a girl so young and true?
Now I'm lost and confused
I don't know what to do.

I just don't understand, God,
Why you decided not to give,
This beautiful little angel of ours,
A second chance to live.
