A Life-Changing Mistake

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Jan 30, 2005

She watched him from far away
Across the gym floor
In the early mornings
While he and his friends played on the basketball court.

She was crushing on him
Anyone could see
Her mind played out their love
In her constant daydream.

Then he asked her the question
She'd been dying to hear
And then they were together
But he was her best friend's biggest fear.

He was controlling her
With his games of the mind
She didn't see he was manipulating her
Love had made her blind.

They were planning on taking the next step
Comminting a dangerous sin
On his sixteenth birthday
Her best friend knew the situation she'd be in.

She was falling for his act
As her best friend tried to convince her otherwise
Her friend told her he was out for whatever he could get
And that there were lots of better guys.

But she ignored her warning
And wound up pregnant
He left her after getting what he wanted
Now she wants to go back, but can't.

Her best friend is still there for her
She should've listened to her warning
She has a broken heart
And will have to tell her parents in the morning.

Just remember this story
When he says, "It's OK..."
Because it happened to my best friend
It was a life-changing mistake.
