Idenity Denial

by lisa marie   Feb 1, 2005

Walking and playing with my meaningless ideas
Stuck on the same thought as we talk about our dislikes
That in the end entwine with our likings
And when we look around with our widen eyes
Analyzing deeper and far from our manipulating society
We hide behind fake smiles and lies.
And we contradict ourselves.

When we decide to confront ourselves
When we decide to expose ourselves to this cowardly world
When we decide to be true to who we are and what we do
And when we want to come clean with our existence
We are destroyed by these actors and actresses that fill the world

Cause this world is filled with walking contradictions,
Living far from actual reality.
Afraid to shout out who they really are,
And too cowardly to admit they’re pretending.
Because they’ve lost their whole identity
And they have forgotten who they are,
From being so caught up in molding their character

And when we look these people in their insecure eyes
We see more probing beneath the surface of their image
Dark hidden secrets and all their pathetic little lies.
Honestly lost in the crowds of an artificial society
Not one bit of dignity or self awareness
Stuck with another face who doesn’t really care
