Nan

by liz   Jul 10, 2003

The day you left i cried for hours,
knowing i'd never hear your voice again,
ripped my heart in two,
you didnt want a fuss,
just to fall asleep and die,
the nurses held your hands,
as grandad climbed the stairs,
you slipped away without a word,
not wanting to be heard.

The years before we used to argue,
over tiny little things,
but if i'd known the short time we had lft,
i'd have put a little more in.

Nan, i miss you so much,
i just wish you could see,
how much you mean and meant to me,
i know your day everyday,
looking down and not leading me astray.

I know someday we'll meet again,
but till that day,
i'll mourn for you.

Till we meet again!
